Christopher Spina

Christopher Spina brings nearly a decade of experience in political, non-profit, and legal communications to CLS. He has a strong background in media relations, issues advocacy, strategic planning, branding, and message development. At CLS, Mr. Spina provides strategic communications support to a number of corporate and public affairs clients such as Genworth Financial and Americans for Secure Retirement.

Prior to joining CLS, Mr. Spina served in a number of roles, including as Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Lincoln Chafee, where he directed national media relations and managed all aspects of the Washington communications office. Mr. Spina also worked as Communications Director for Senator Chafee’s nationally-covered primary and general election campaigns. Most recently, Mr. Spina was Vice President for Communications and Counsel at First Focus, a Washington-based bipartisan children’s advocacy organization.

A native of Rhode Island, Mr. Spina served as a legislative aide to the Rhode Island House of Representatives and was a member of the campaign team that successfully elected Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch.

Mr. Spina earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Providence College and a Juris Doctorate from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. He is a member of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
