Dionisios "Dio" Favatas

Dionisios “Dio” Favatas brings over a decade of experience in the digital / interactive communications space to CLS, with extensive knowledge of digital outreach, research and development, and social media. Mr. Favatas serves as the primary digital strategist for both domestic and international clients, including the American Dental Association, Americans for Secure Retirement, the Cruise Lines International Association, Capitol Watch, the Center for Wine Origins and the Government of Egypt.

Prior to joining CLS, Mr. Favatas served as Interactive Marketing Manager at Strayer University, where he oversaw the entire interactive department. He assisted the university in rolling out multiple Web-based systems, and all cross-departmental digital media strategies, ranging from marketing communications to public relations, legal, and business development. Among his many responsibilities, core accomplishments included building and launching the University’s first comprehensive social media ecosystem, social media guidelines, and the New Media business unit.

Mr. Favatas has also served as director of strategic partnerships at TMP Worldwide Advertising & Communications, LLC, where he counseled various technology companies ranging from startups such as LinkedIn and MySpace to Fortune 100 companies such as ADP and Oracle. Earlier, he served as senior interactive strategist, where he developed and launched email marketing and social media campaigns, and Web sites for stakeholder mobilization and recruitment efforts. His clients included such federal agencies as the Drug Enforcement Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency, Immigration and Customs enforcement and the Department of Health and Human Services.

Mr. Favatas also served as client manager for Grassroots Enterprise, Inc., strategizing and executing interactive crisis and advocacy campaigns for organizations including the American Heart Association, Pacific Gas & Electric Corp, and the National Biodiesel Board.

Mr. Favatas completed an MS in Strategic Marketing from one of Europe’s top business schools, Cranfield University, in 2008. He was awarded the Market Research Society’s 2008 Accredited Master’s Prize for best thesis, which focused on youth issues in Brixton and other lower boroughs of London, working for Livity Ltd on Social and Multi-Channel Marketing campaigns for their Dubplate Drama television series. He also holds a BS in International Business and Finance, with a minor in Management Information Systems, from Rochester Institute of Technology.
