Laura Hosny
Managing Director

Laura Hosny joined CLS in the fall of 2006 and provides strategic communications counsel, media relations, and legislative strategy for a number of prominent trade associations, corporate and international clients.

During her tenure at CLS, Ms. Hosny has worked on a successful campaign to prevent federal oversight of state-regulated pharmacy practices, through a strategy that combined grassroots organizing, developing a base of third party support and media relations.  For Genworth Financial, Ms. Hosny has worked to improve the image of private mortgage insurance through thought leadership, public affairs and media relations.  In the international arena, Ms. Hosny has worked with a number of prominent CLS clients, including an effort to help bring debt relief to the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) in the face of large, multinational detractors.  Ms. Hosny currently works on a campaign to strengthen the U.S.-Egyptian relationship.

Prior to joining CLS, Ms. Hosny worked in government and public affairs at the state and federal levels for one of the nation’s largest mortgage lenders.  She was instrumental in elevating the company’s presence among policymakers and opinion leaders in Washington, DC and managed three separate internal communications campaigns.  She developed expertise in coalition-building, issues management, government relations, high-profile event planning and political fundraising.

From 2002 – 2004, Ms. Hosny served on the staff of Congressman Steve Israel (D-NY), where she drafted speeches and legislative correspondence about legislative issues including the 2003 Medicare overhaul and the resolution to authorize U.S. military force in Iraq.

She has worked for other elected officials at the local, state and federal levels. A dual citizen of the U.S. and the UK, Ms. Hosny is fluent in French and holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations from Boston University.
